A hardy hybrid of Korean and Japanese maple, combining the hardiness and durability of the Korean maple with the beauty of the Japanese maple. Ice Dragon® is a small garden maple with spring leaves that unfurl blushed orange-red, quickly maturing to green. In summer, the finely divided leaves are durable and tolerant of sun and heat. In late fall, the foliage becomes a kaleidoscope of yellow, orange and red. After leaf drop, the undulating branch structure is a visual treat during winter. Grows in sun to part shade, 8' tall and 10' wide. Hardy to Zone 4.
